Anglo Saxon Snap and Pairs Card Game This game has been developed to help children to understand our history as a coherent, chronological narrative from the earliest times, discovering how people's lives have shaped our nation over time. It aligns with the current Key Stage 2 history syllabus for teaching the Anglo Saxon period to children.
Using this particular card deck, children are able to learn about the Anglo-Saxon way of life including buildings, place names, jewellery and clothing. The two card games that can be played; snap and matching pairs really do offer children fun opportunities to actively learn through play.
How to play snap: To play Snap, all you have to do is match the cards together. So, snap wpuld be called if two cards with the same images came up.
How to play matching pairs:
In order to play pairs, simply turn all the cards upside down. Then turn two over at a time to see if they match. If they do then you keep them, if not you turn them back face down with the aim to collect all the cards. This is a great concentration game for kids that develops memory recall.
